Underneath the foot a TPU plate provides protection from gnarly roots, jagged rocks, and torsion control over uneven terrain in general. This plate sits immediately above the Vasque Mako outsole and gives you confidence when running on rock slabs, descending switchbacks, or making your way up a pebble-strewn logging road. And above the TPU plate a dual density molded EVA midsole offers cushioning and motion control that becomes increasingly important as the mileage piles up.
