George Washington Birthplace National Memorial

Special events feature living history and farm chore demonstrations. Education programs are curriculum based and reflect the Virginia Standards of Learning. Special Parks-As-Classroom programs include "How Math and Science Changed George Washington"s Life" with a surveying excercise for older students.

Junior Ranger Program

The Junior Ranger program consists of several activities which must be completed while exploring the historic area. Activities are designed for ages 5 - 8 and 8 - 12. The booklet may be acquired in the Visitor Center. Upon completion of the activities, the Ranger badge will be awarded in the Visitor Center.

Scout Patch

A Scout Patch program is also available. A questionnaire may be acquired in the Visitor Center, and 20 questions are to be answered while touring the historic area. The Popes Creek Historic Trail patch is then purchased at the park Book Store and Gift Shop.
