We love it when kids want to experience and learn about Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve! After all, there will be a time in the not-to-distant future when the children of today will step in to preserve and protect this park for future generations. Why not start now?
If you visit the park by land: be sure to see the ranger and the exhibits in the Visitor Center on the second floor of Glacier Bay Lodge.
If you come by ship: rangers join all cruise ships and tour boats that visit the bay. Look for someone wearing the badge and the ranger hat!
If you are a virtual visitor: click on the links on this page and start learning all sorts of cool stuff about this national park.
Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve is only one of over 385 parks nationwide. Each park preserves an important part of our nation's heritage. Many people who are rangers today came to love national parks by visiting them as kids. Will you be working for the National Park Service some day?
Kids in Bartlett Cove can visit the ranger at the information desk in the Visitor Center to pick up a free Junior Ranger booklet. By completing the steps and presenting his/her work to a ranger, each child can earn a nifty Junior Ranger badge.
Children's centers aboard cruise ships that visit Glacier Bay offer a Glacier Bay Junior Ranger Program to children over the course of the cruise. While in Glacier Bay, park rangers present a special children's program to aspiring Junior Rangers. By participating in the program throughout the cruise, kids earn a Junior Ranger badge. The world can always use another Junior Ranger!
