Big Creek Campground

Description: Big Creek Group USe Site is located 19 miles north of Columbia Falls along the North Fork of the Flathead River in the Big Creek Campground. The group camping areas are nestled in the middle of the campground with convenient access to the river, tables, campsites, and toilets. The group use site accomidates 200 people. Facilities at the campground include a river access site, day use facilities, water, 1 group camping area, 22 individual campsites, 1 host site, and vault toilets. Please oack out what you brought including your garbage. Grizzly Bears live in the area; store your food, beverages, coolers, and garbage in a manner that does not attract bears to your campsite, either in your vehicle, hang it properly, or in an approved food storage container. Big Creek Campground is just a few miles south of the Camas Road; the west entrance into Glacier National Park. The North Fork of the Flathead Riv er is desginated as a Wild and Scenic River with wonderful fishing and floating opportunities.

Ben Rover Cabin Campground

Description: Ben Rover cabin is located 35 miles north of Columbia Falls, MT on the North Fork Road near Polebridge. Most of the year the cabin is accessible by driving. The water source is a well. Ben Rover cabin sits in the Whitefish Range of the Rocky Mountains. Ben Rover has rustic accommodations including propane cook stove, lights, heater, wood stove, well water, and vault toilet. Ben Rover's party size is eight with two double beds, one bunk bed, and two twin beds. Please pack out what you brought including your garbage. Grizzly Bears live in the area; store your food, beverages, coolers, and garbage inside the cabin. Pets are not allowed at Ben Rover. Polebridge Merchentile is located 1/2 mile south of Ben Rover and has limited supplies. Description: Schnaus cabin is located 42 miles north of Columbia Falls, MT on the North Fork Road north of Polebridge. Schnaus cabin sits in the Whitefish Range of the Rocky Mountains. Schnaus has rustic accomodations including propane cook stove,heater, lights, wood stove, and vault toilet. Schnaus's party size is twelve with two double beds and a bunk bed on the main floor and twin beds in the loft. Please pack out what you brought including your garbage. Grizzly Bears live in the area; store your food, beverages, coolers, and garbage inside the cabin. Pets are not allowed at Schnaus. Polebridge Merchentile is located seven miles south of Schnaus and has limited supplies. Ford Cabin Campground

Description: Ford is available from May 25 through March 15 each year. The cabin is not available March 16 to May 24 yearly. Ford Cabin is 45 miles north of Columbia Falls along the Wild and Scenic North Fork of the Flathead River. The cabin was built in 1922 by Ralph Thayer and was part of the Ford Ranger Station. The cabin is available May 25 to March 15. Ford has a propane stove, lights, heater, and a vault toilet. The party size is 6 with one double bed and two bunk beds. Please pack out what you brought including your garbage. Grizzly bears live in the area; store your food, beverages, coolers, and garbage inside the cabin. Pets are not allowed at Ford. Commercial use of the cabins is prohibited (outfitter guides, groups or organizations with compensated leaders/chaperones). Water is not available, please bring your own drinking water.

Emery Bay Campground

Description: Emery Bay Group Use sites are located 6 miles south of Martin City along the Hungry Horse Reservoir within the Emery Bay Campground. Facilities at the campground include a boat access, host site, vault toilets, water, and 26 "first come-first serve" individual campsites. At the group site there are two loops; each with tables, group fire ring, vault toilet, and they can accommodate 75 people each. Please pack out what you brought including your garbage. Grizzly bears live in the area; store your food, beverages, coolers, and garbage in a manner that does not attract bears to your campsite by either storing in your vehicle, hanging it properly, or storing it in an approved storage container. Emery Bay Campground is just 15 miles SW of the West Glacier entrance into Glacier National Park.

Wurtz Cabin Campground

Description: Wurts is an original homestead of Frank and Ella Wurtz in the North Fork and is on the National Historic Register. The cabin was recently restored with the help of volunteers, boy scouts, and dedicated Forest Service employees. Wurtz is a disabled accessible two-story cabin with bedrooms on both floors. Wurtz Cabin is located 46 miles north of Columbia Falls, MT on the North Fork Road just south of the Canadian border. Wurtz Cabin is adjacent the Wild and Scenic North Fork of the Flathead River. Wurtz has rustic accomodations including propane cook stove, lights, wood stove, and vault toilet, no water is available. Wurtz's party size is twelve with two double beds, eight single beds. Please pack out what you brought including your garbage. Grizzly Bears live in the area; store your food, beverages, coolers, and garbage inside the cabin. Pets are not allowed at Wurtz. Polebridge Merchentile is located south of Wurtz and has limited supplies. Commercial use of the cabins is prohibited (outfitter guides, groups or organizations with compensated leaders/chaperones).

Lid Creek Campground

Description: Lid Creek Group Use Site is located 15 miles south of Hungry Horse along the Hungry Horse Reservoir within the Lid Creek Campground. Facilities at the campground include a host site, vault toilets, and 23 "first come-first serve" individual campsites. The group site is primitive with 12 parking spurs and rock firerings and easy walking access to the vault toilets and Reservoir. Please pack out what you brought including your garbage. Grizzly bears live in the area; store your food, beverages, coolers, and garbage in a manner that does not attract bears to your campsite by either storing in your vehicle, hanging it properly, or storing it in an approved storage container. Lid Creek Campground is just 23 miles SW of the West Glacier enterance into Glacier National Park.

Hornet Lookout Campground

Description: Hornet Lookout is available June 15st to October 31st annually. Hornet Lookout is 45 miles north of Columbia Falls. It was built in 1922 and was an intergral part of the chain of lookouts providing forest fire detection in the North Fork. Hornet Lookout is a rustic lookout with an approximate 1 mile hike in the summer from the trailhead. Hornet has rustic accommodations with a propane cook stove & lantern, small wood stove for heat, and a pit toilet. Renters should pack their own bedding, water, and can gather firewood in the area. Hornet's party size is 2 with cots and a small loft. The area burned during the 2003 Wedge Fire and is coming back with wildflowers and bear grass. Glacier National Park and the Wild and Scenic North Fork of the Flathead River are nearby. Sometimes the Northern Lights make an appearance. Description: Ninko is available from Dec 1st through March 31st each winter. The cabin is not available for April 1 to Nov 30. Ninko Cabin is located 45 miles north of Columbia Falls, MT on the North Fork Road. Access involves an 12mile hike, snowshoe, ski, or snowmobile to the cabin from the North Fork Road. Ninko has rustic accomodations including propane cook stove, lights, small refrigerator, wood stove, and vault toilet. Renters should pack their own bedding and drinking water. Ninko's party size is 7 with two bunk beds and a small loft. Please pack out what you brought including your garbage. Grizzly bears live in the area; store your food, beverages, coolers, and garbage inside the cabin. Pets are not allowed at Ninko. Polebridge Merchentile is located 10 miles south of Ninko and has a limited supplies. The cabin is available from December 1 to March 31st. Commercial use of the cabins is prohibited (outfitter guides, groups or organizations with compensated leaders/chaperones).

Zip's Place Cabin Campground

Description: Zip's cabin is available from June 1st through March 31st each year. The cabin is not available April 1 to May 31 each year. Zip's cabin is located 48 miles east of Hungry Horse, MT on US Highway 2. Then two miles south on a gravel county road. During the winter months or when the road conditions are impassable, renter must park at the designated parking area and hike, snowmobile, ski, or snow snowshoe approximately 1 mile to the cabin. Please respect the adjacent owners property and do not block the driveway. Summer (or when snow is melted and road is passable), you can drive to the cabin. Party size is limited to eight. The property Zip's Place (cabin) sits on was originally part of a homestead granted in 1937. In 1945 the land was bought by the Kimmet family of Cut Bank, MT and in 1954 they constructed the cabin that resides there today. Zip's has rustic accomodations including vault toilet, electric stove, refrigerator, lights, electric and propane heat, pots & pans, utensils & cutlery, dishes, and cleaning items. Zip's party size is eight with two double beds and four twin beds. Please clean the cabin, empty the refrigerator and pack out what you brought including your garbage. Grizzly Bears live in the area; store your food, beverages, coolers, and garbage inside the cabin. Pets are not allowed at Zip's. A small stream runs behind the cabin. The cabin is available June 1st to March 31st. Commercial use of the cabins is prohibited (outfitter guides, groups or organizations with compensated leaders/chaperones).
