Details
All park camping is on a first come, first served basis. No reservations can be made
(except for the Grey Cliffs Group Campground). Campsites cannot be "saved" or reserved for
family or friends arriving later. Campsites are limited to 8 people and 2 vehicles per site.
There is no fee for the primitive campgrounds. Pets in the campgrounds must be kept on a
leash 6 feet in length or shorter at all times. Pets are not permitted on park
trails.

Baker Creek Campground, at 7,700 feet (2,350 meters), contains 34 campsites, 2 of which
are wheelchair accessible, and pit toilets. It is 3 miles from Lehman Caves Visitor Center
on a gravel road. Water is available in summer only. Campsites are limited to 8 people and 2
vehicles per site.
Lower Lehman Creek Campground

Details
Lower Lehman Creek Campground, at 7,300 feet (2,200 meters), contains 11 campsites, pit
toilets, and a limited number of pull-through sites for small RV's and trailers. It is 2.5
miles from Lehman Caves Visitor Center off the paved scenic drive. Lower Lehman Campground
is open all year, but water is available in summer only. Campsites are limited to 8 people
and 2 vehicles per site.

Designated primitive campsites can be found along Snake Creek and Strawberry Creek
Roads. There is no fee to use these campsites. Some sites have picnic tables and fire
grates. A few Snake Creek sites have pit toilets - most do not. Drinking water is available
at the RV Sanitary Station from late spring through early fall, or at the Lehman Caves
Visitor Center. Creek water should always be boiled or treated before use.
Campers must be in designated sites along these roads and backcountry camping
regulations apply. Tents must be placed within 30 feet of the site's picnic table(s) and/or
fire ring(s). Generators may only be used between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Checkout time is noon. The maximum continuous stay limit at any campsite is 14 days.
Groups size is limited to 15 persons and/or 6 pack animals, and/or 6 vehicles per site.
Larger groups must split into smaller groups within these limits, and must camp at separate
sites. Larger groups may request an exception to these limits from the Superintendent under
the terms of a Special Use Permit.
Snake Creek and Strawberry Creek Roads are open year round, but can be muddy or snowy in
the winter and spring. High clearance vehicles are recommended for these rough, dirt roads.
RVs and trailers are not recommended at any time
Upper Lehman Creek Campground

Upper Lehman Campground is located 3 miles from the Lehman Caves Visitor Center off the
Scenic Drive at 7,800 feet (2,400 meters). It contains 24 campsites, pit toilets, and 1
wheelchair accessible site. Water is available in summer only. Campsites are limited to 8
people and 2 vehicles per site.

Wheeler Peak Campground is located at 9,950 feet (3,000 meters) at the end of the scenic
drive, just over 12 miles from the Lehman Caves Visitor Center. It contains 37 sites (one
wheelchair accessible), and pit toilets. The road to the campground is narrow and curvy and
climbs an 8% grade 12 miles. RV's and trailers are not recommended. Water is available in
summer only. Campsites are limited to 8 people and 2 vehicles per site.

Wall Creek Cabin Campground

Description: Available May 2 through December 1. Wall Creek cabin is located on the east foot of the Gravelly Range. It is a popular cabin, especially for hunters and for viewing elk in the fall, due to its proximity to the Wall Creek Wildlife Management Area. The elevation is 6150 feet. The facility was a ranger station until the 1940s. There are three log buildings at the site: a barn and main house, which are used by the grazing permit holders, and the smaller cabin. Only the smaller cabin is available for public use. The cabin is small, with a one room living quarters and an enclosed porch or outer room. The cabin is capable of sleeping four people, with two bunk beds. There is a cookstove and a lantern which are fueled by small disposable propane bottles. Some pots, pans and utensils are provided, but minimal. There is a wood stove for heat and firewood is provided, stacked against the fence to the west of the cabin. Split wood is stored in the box inside the porch. The only water available is at a spigot at the horse trough. The water must be properly filtered, treated or boiled for drinking or cooking purposes. A primitive outhouse is located 100 feet north of the cabin. Renters horses are not allowed within the entire administrative area. Cabin fee is $35.00 per night. Fee to rent cabin is non-refundable within 14 days of arrival date. Any changes in reserved dates may be assessed an additional fee by NRRS. Ponderosa Picnic Area Campground

Description: This area is a picnic area and designed to have large groups of people for outings. There is no overnight camping. The Beaver River which is adjacent to this picnic area provides good fishing. Good access and very close to Beaver. The site is located in a cool grove of ponderosa pine, cottonwood and aspen. The maple and other plants are colorful in the fall. Location: This picnic area is located nine miles east of Beaver adjacent to State Road #153. To reach this area travel east on paved State Road #153 for nine miles. Elevation: 7,000 feet Season: Generally May through October Fees: $3.00 for a single car without reservation Reservation can be made for the east side, west side or the whole area by reserving both sides. Facilities: A large parking area, vault toilets, amphitheatre, volleyball court, horseshoe pits, tables, grills, group fire circles, electric lights and water are available. Bring your own net, ball and shoes to play volleyball and horseshoes.

South Ruby Campground

Description: Located in northeast Nevada, 75 miles southwest of the town of Wells. Elevation is 6,000 feet. Sites are sheltered by pinion pine and juniper trees. View of Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge. Limited supplies are available 11 miles north of campground. Facilities include a fish cleaning station. There is deer hunting on adjacent lands. No discharge of firearms or fireworks.

Cedar Canyon Campground

Description: The Cedar City Ranger District will TRY to have the Cedar Canyon campground open for walk-in (first-come, first-serve) camping by Memorial Day weekend and close on September 15, 2008 depending on the weather conditions. Summer season reservations open on June 9 and close September 1, 2008 respectively. The campground will remain open for dry camping (vault toilet, no water) until the snow falls. Located eleven miles east of Cedar City, Utah, Cedar Canyon Campground is situated next to Crow Creek at an elevation of 8,100 feet and is forested, with shade in most units. Cedar Canyon is conveniently close to Cedar City, Cedar Breaks National Monument, and the 34mile Virgin River Rim Trail open to hiking, mountain biking, and horses. A network of trails in the Ashdown Gorge Wilderness is close by also. Roads and spurs are paved. Firewood is sold by the bundle, and may be purchased from the camp host. Culinary water is piped from a spring. Two vault toilet restrooms are provided. No showers. No hookups for RVs. Other nearby attractions include Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park.

Deer Haven Campground

Description: Located sixteen miles east of the town of Cedar City, Utah. Facilities include: 2 flush toilets and 1 vault toilet, an amphitheater with a large group fire ring, 2 tables and a fire ring at each tent site. NO showers. This is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out campground. Therefore campers must remove all garbage when vacating the campground. Garbage may be deposited at the Cedar Canyon or Duck Creek campgrounds. Culinary water is piped from a spring. There is not an abundant supply of water, please conserve available water in all activities. Parking is available in the central park lot and outside the campground fence and gate. Parking lot can hold 20 conventional vehicles. Campers should come prepared to carry gear from the central parking lot to the tent sites. The tent sites are for tents only. RV's are allowed only in the central parking lot. RV hook-ups are not available. Maximum RV length is 24 feet. Group site fee is $55.00 for the first 50 people, then $1.00 for each additional person after the first 50 people. The campground holds a maximum of 200 people. Attractions nearby include Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion's National Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument, scenic views; excellent biking and hiking

Panguitch Lake Campground

Description: Facilities include: Culinary water from a deep well piped to thecampground; fire ring and table at each unit; firewood for sale by the camp host; 3 flush toilets; NO showers; no electricity; central garbage bins; amphitheater (reservable upon arrival with the camp host); RV length is 35 feet; NO hook-ups. Parking Fees: For single and double units, the first vehicle is free, thereafter a fee of $6.00 is charged for each additional car. Panguitch Lake Group site has a set of volleyball poles (you must provide your own net and ball), horse shoe pits, and a large group fire ring near the picnic tables. Smaller fire pits with grills are dispersed around the group site. Amphitheater is next to the group site and may be reserved through the campground host upon your arrival. The site has its own water hydrant. Site fee is $45 for the first 50 people, and thereafter an additional dollar for each additional person. Site has a small paved parking lot that can hold up to ten vehicles and two RV's. Located 14 miles southwest of Panguitch, Utah, in a ponderosa pine forest about 1/2 mile distance from the lake. Only a few of the camp sites on the north end of the campground will have a view of the lake. Popular activities include hiking, biking, horseback riding, hunting, fishing and nature study. There is an amphitheater with some weekend programs and Church Services. Attractions nearby include Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument, and recreation on Panguitch Lake. The Cedar City Ranger District will TRY to have the Panguitch Lake North campground open for walk-in (first-come, first-serve) by May 14, depending on the weather conditions. By September 30, the Panguitch Lake campground will close, but the Panguitch Lake South campground and the White Bridge campground will remain open for dry camping (vault toilet, no water) until the snow falls. The docks at Panguitch Lake can only handle fishing or pontoon boats, nothing larger. Food services, lodging, showers, groceries, gasoline, and boat rentals are available at the various commercial facilities surrounding the lake. Campground has 39 single units, 8 double units, and 3 group units. Definition of Recreational Vehicles: All-Terrain Vehicle: A type of off-highway vehicle that travels on three or more low-pressure tires; has handle-bar steering; is less than or equal to 50 inches in width; and has a seat designed to be straddled by the operator. Motor Vehicle:Any vehicle which is self-propelled, other than: (1) A vehicle operated on rails; and (2) Any wheelchair or mobility device, including on that is battery-powered, that is designed solely for use by a mobility-impaired person for locomotion, and that is suitable for use in an indoor pedestrian area.
