Lehman Caves Visitor Center

Location

The Lehman Caves Visitor Center is located on NV Hwy. 488, 5.5 miles from the town of Baker, and half a mile inside the park boundary.

Closures

The Lehman Caves Visitor Center is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Special Programs

Regularly scheduled tours of Lehman Caves are offered year round. Tours may be 30, 60 or 90 minutes in duration. Longer tours go further along the same route. The 30 minute tour visits only the Gothic Palace. Distance for the 90 minute tour is 0.54 miles. Children under the age of 5 are not permitted on the 90 minute cave tour.

Exhibits

The Lehman Caves Visitor Center exhibits include cave formations, ancient bristlecone pines, plant communities and seasonal exhibits.

Available Facilities

The Lehman Caves Visitor Center houses exhibits, two short audiovisual presentations, the Western National Parks Association Bookstore, and a concession gift shop and cafe open April through October(775-234-7221).

Closed for the winter season November 15 through March 31st, with the exception of special weekends. Regular open hours are 8:00 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time. Extended hours in the summer.

Location

The Great Basin Visitor Center is located just north of the town of Baker on the west side of Highway 487.

Closures

Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day.

Exhibits

The permanent exhibits for the Great Basin Visitor Center are currently in the design phase.

Available Facilities

The Great Basin Visitor Center includes the Western National parks Association bookstore, an AV program about the park, temporary exhibits, and restrooms.
