Details
There is a small campground near the visitor center which is open year round on a
first-come, first-served basis. The sites are designed for tent camping, though a few sites
will accommodate RV's 25 feet or less in length. Sites include tent pads, fire grills and
picnic tables with shade structures. Flush toilets and running water are available.

Mcphee Recreation Complex Campground

Description: Located near the town of Dolores. Some sites are shaded. The Indian Ruins are a popular attraction. The campground provides many services, including a boat ramp, a fish cleaning station, and showers in the Campground. The Campground is popular for skiing, boating and fishing.

Devils Canyon Campground

Description: Restrooms are provided. Showers are available in Blanding, eight miles to the south. Elevation is 7,400 feet. Summer temperatures are warm in the day, but cool in the evenings. Firewood is limited. Spurs are paved. Drinking water is available. County fair in August. Evening programs are provided at Edge of the Cedars Museum in Blanding. Wildlife in the area include birds, squirrels, chipmunks, deer and black bear.

Description: Located approximately 12 miles north of Blanding, UT at the foot of the Abajo Mountains. Campground is situated at an elevation of 7000 feet amid Ponderosa pine and Gambel oak trees. Summer temperatures range from 80-90 degrees during the day and 55-65 degrees at night. Mule deer, wild turkeys, Abert?s squirrels, and the occasional black bear may be seen in the area. There are no hookups, but drinking water and vault toilets are provided. Firewood may be collected in and around the campground. Popular activities include hiking, wildlife viewing, and touring the Abajo Mountains. Other attractions in the area include Canyonlands, Arches, and Mesa Verde National Parks, Dark Canyon Wilderness, Edge of the Cedars State Park, and Lake Powell, as well as numerous archaeological sites.

Summer temperatures range from 75-85 degrees during the day and 50-60 degrees at night. Mule deer, wild turkeys, and black bears frequent the area. There are no hookups, but drinking water and vault toilets are provided. Firewood may be collected in and around the campground. Popular activities include fishing, hiking, and riding ATV trails.
