There is something for every type of camper at Illini State Park. Both tent and trailer sites, including electric and sanitation service, are offered and some of the sites offer breathtaking views of the Illinois River. A youth area is available for youth groups and should be reserved in advance through the site office; $1 per person with a $10 daily minimum fee. All campers should obtain permits from the site staff or campground host upon arrival. The park has both Class A and B sites. Class A includes showers, electricity, and vehicular access; $8, plus a $3 utility fee per night. Class B includes electricity and vehicular access; $7, plus a $3 utility fee per night.

There is a large campground in the south of the park with 133 Class A campsites, complete with water, electricity and showers, a separate youth group camping area, and a children's playground. There is a sanitary dump. Toilets, drinking water, and picnicking facilities are all handicapped accessible. Permits may be obtained from the park office or at the permit booth in the campground area. Class A sites include showers, electricity, and vehicular access; $8, plus are $3 utility fee per night.

Visitors to the forest can camp in one of three family campgrounds, a horse riders camp or one of two group camps, hike, mountain bike, ride a horse, snowmobile or ski on the 160+ miles of trail, swim at one of two beaches, backpack to an overnight shelter on the Ice Age Trail, picnic, fish, hunt, or tour three historic cabin sites. There are also facilities for use by those with disabilities including a cabin in the campground and an accessible nature trail. Description: One of the best-kept secrets of southern Wisconsin, Lake Kegonsa State Park offers a variety of recreational activities set along its 3,200-acre lake. Features include oak woodlands, prairies, and wetlands. There is a swimming beach and a boat launch within 1 mile of the campground. Fishing opportunities are excellent on Lake Kegonsa, and fishing from a boat is preferred. There are hiking trails and picnic areas and local marinas have boats available to rent. All sites are fully or partially wooded.
