John Day Fossil Beds National Monument - Facilities

Park trails, overlooks, and picnic areas are open seven days a week during daylight hours.

The Thomas Condon Paleontology Center, located at the Sheep Rock Unit, is open daily, year round;

Winter November-February 28th 9:00-4:00

Spring March 1st until Memorial day 9:00-5:00

Summer Memorial day - Labor Day 9:00-5:30

Fall Labor Day until October 31st 9:00-5:00

The museum is Closed on all Federal holidays between Thanksgiving and Presidents day.

18 minute orientation film is shown on request. Ranger talks are offered daily in the summer.
