During summer, the National Park Service operates a visitor information desk
at the Quincy Mine Hoist Association Gift Shop, located along U.S. Highway
41 north of Hancock, Michigan. Information on the park can be obtained year
round from the park headquarters, located in Calumet, Michigan.
Summer and early Fall are the primary seasons for visiting the Keweenaw Peninsula, particularly from Memorial Day to the end of the Fall color season in mid October. Winter activities such as snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing are popular from late November through the end of March.

Getting There Plane Daily scheduled air service is provided to the Houghton County Memorial Airport (CMX) by Northwest Airlink (800)225-2525). Rental cars are available at the airport and from auto dealers.
Car From the Mackinaw Bridge/I-75 take US-2 to M-77 N to M-28 W. Take M-28/US-41 west from Marquette. Follow US-41 into Houghton and across the lift bridge into Hancock. From Ironwood,MI/Hurley, WI take US-2 E to M-28 E to M-26 N into Houghton and across the lift bridge. From Green Bay, WI take US-141 N through Iron Mountain and Crystal Falls to M-28 E to US-41 N into Houghton and across the lift bridge. The Quincy Unit of the park is located just north of Hancock, MI, along US-41. The Calumet Unit is located in and around the Village of Calumet, MI, about eight miles north of the Quincy Unit on US-41.
Public Transportation Charter bus service is available through Superior Coaches and Delivery of Houghton, (906) 487-6511. Inter-city bus service is provided by Greyhound Bus Lines, (800) 231-2222. Cab service is available in the Calumet, Hancock, and Houghton areas.
