Turner Lake (east) Cabin Campground

Description: Click here for more cabin information and maps. This cabin is located on the East Side of Turner Lake away from Taku Inlet. It has a long narrow fjord-like lake surrounded by steep mountains, a Spruce and hemlock forest, black and brown bear, waterfowl and fish. Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table benches, oil stove for heat. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads,cook stoves,cooking gear and food. Oil stove uses #1 stove oil (#1 diesel) or kerosene to be supplied by user. For a list of stove oil suppliers for the Juneau area call (907) 586-8800. Fuel consumption is approximately 1 gal/day with stove on low setting. The person holding the reservation must be 18, and must be a member of the party using the cabin. Use of this cabin by a commercial operator such as an outfitter or guide, is NOT allowed. Cabin is primitive, with the few amenities listed above. There are NO discounts for Golden Age or Golden Access Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1-September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1-April 30 Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.
