Lava Beds National Monument - For KidsLava Beds is a wonderful place for children. They like nothing more than putting on a hard hat (available for roughly $4 at the Visitor Center), grabbing a flashlight (also available for loan), and heading off to explore a cave. Will they get scared? How far does it go? Or, how about walking in the footsteps of Modoc warriors through the lava fortress at Captain Jacks Stronghold, or imagining you are a soldier spending a cold winter in a tent at Gillems Camp? Nature and history await young explorers at Lava Beds.
