Operating Hours Seasons

The Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Headquarters is located at 601 Riverfront Drive in Omaha, Nebraska. It is an administrative office. There is a Visitor contact center in the main foyer and will have planned interpretive programs in the future. It is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday during the winter. Riverfront Bookstore, located in the main floor of the building, is open from 8 a.m.. - 5 p.m. 7 days a week during the summer and 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during winter. There are many Visitor Sites along the trail - please check with each site for current information.

Getting There

Plane

You may fly to most of the major urban areas along the trail and then follow the trail by a vehicle of your choice.

Car

Motor routes that approximately follow the route of the historic expedition were marked by state agencies in the 1960's. Please visit our expanded web site by clicking on IN DEPTH, or click at bottom of this page for more information.

Public Transportation

Check with the local Chambers of Commerce for each section of the trail or trail sites in the 11 states along the Trail.
