Longfellow National Historic Site - Activities![]() Beginning May 31, Longfellow House and Visitor Center will return to its traditional summer schedule: Wednesday - Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm. The grounds are open daily from dawn to dusk. Research in the museum archives is available with advance appointment at (617)491-1054. A variety of guided tours and special events are offered during the visitor season. Tours of historic Longfellow House include the first and second floor rooms occupied by George Washington and family during the Siege of Boston (1775-76) and Henry Longfellow and his immediate and extended family (1837-1950). The newly-rehabilitated gardens and grounds offer a welcome respite and set the stage for music and poetry events as part of the Longfellow Summer Festival of Music and Poetry. A Visitor Center and Bookstore operation and visitor restrooms are also available. |
