Manzanar National Historic Site, 5001 Highway 395, Independence, CA 93526. Manzanar is located six miles south of Independence and nine miles north of Lone Pine, CA along U.S. Highway 395.

Park rangers offer guided walks and talks for the public and school groups. Public program schedules are posted regularly on the Activities and News sections of our website at www.nps.gov/manz. Schools may request education program reservations by calling 760-878-2194. A self-guided auto tour is available any time during daylight hours.
Extensive exhibits span a century of history (from 1885 - present) with a focus on the World War II relocation and internment of Japanese Americans from the West Coast. Exhibits include a large scale model of Manzanar War Relocation Center crafted by former internees, extensive historic photographs and audiovisual programs, and artifacts. A large graphic includes the names of 11,070 Japanese Americans who spent all or part of World War II at Manzanar. An twenty-two minute documentary film "Remembering Manzanar" shows every half hour.
Exhibits, theater, bookstore, restrooms, park headquarters offices. All are fully accessible.
