It is operated by the South Dakota Division of Parks and Recreation and is adjacent to the western boundary of the 59-mile reach of the Missouri National Recreational River, a unit of the National Park System. State park entrance fee is required. Reservations can be made up to 90 days before arrival by calling 1-800-710-2267.

The campground is sited on the Nebraska side of the Missouri River about half a mile downstream from Gavins Point Dam and at the western border of the 59-mile reach of the Missouri National Recreational River, a unit of the National Park System. It is operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Reservations can be made for the period between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend..

The modern RV campground has 69 pads, all with 30 amp electrical hookups. Tent camping area extends along 3 miles of extremely hilly, winding, one-way road. Tent camping available year-round. Operated by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission. State park entrance fee is required. Designated camp sites may be reserved up to a year in advance by calling the park at 402/857-3373 or by calling the central reservations number at 402/471-1414.
