Mount Rainier National Park - For Kids

Special Junior Ranger programs are offered throughout the park on summer weekends (daily at Paradise in summer). A Junior Ranger Activity Book is available year-round. Guided snowshoe walks are offered in winter and may be suitable for families with children 8 and up. Some trails are accessible for strollers and small children, including Trail of the Shadows (Longmire), Grove of the Patriachs (near Ohanapecosh), and Emmons Vista (Sunrise). Ask a ranger for additional suggestions. Formal education programs are available for school and youth groups. Junior Ranger Program

Activity books are available at park visitor centers. Special programs for Junior Rangers age 6-11 are offered throughout the park in summer. Have fun, learn about your park, and earn a badge and certificate!
