Nez Perce National Historical Park - Nonnative Species

Nez Perce National Historical Park

The Nimiipuu culture developed in this area with a close relationship to the native species of the land. One of the primary resource threats to the area is invasion by exotic species. This threat is present in all nature, from fish to grasslands. In many areas entire vegetation communities have been replaced by invasive exotic species. This has altered the natural look of the area and has had devastating effects on native species of the area, affecting both plants and animals.
