Lone Peak 3.0 Trail Running Shoe - Women's by Altra
Sharing a name with a sheer behemoth in Utah's Wasatch Range, the Lone Peak 3. 0 Women's Trail Running Shoe didn't get its name by coincidence. Altra's founders were raised in the shadows of the jagged mountain range, and the Lone Peak was built to tackle punishing ascents and unforgiving singletrack in the spirit of the peak itself. This year, the cushioned trail shoe returns with a brand-new MaxTrac outsole and TrailClaw lugs, which keep it together on scree fields and rocky descents with MaxTrac's stickiness and effective lug arrangement. Meanwhile, Altra's proven Foot Shape platform and Zero Drop construction allows your foot moves naturally as you run. Altra's exaggerated V-shaped last returns to the Lone Peak 3. 0, providing your toes with a generous amount of space to splay out as you run. Being the women's version, Altra shaped the Lone Peak with its Fit4Her last, which is adapted to accommodate the slight, but significant shape differences in men's and women's feet. The midsole flexes to match the natural inclination of your tendons and bones to ensure comfort reduce the risk of injury. While your toes enjoy their newfound freedom, settle into a long run on hardpack as 25mm of cushy EVA foam absorbs fatiguing impact. The shoe's zero drop construction encourages a mid-foot landing, and Altra includes an unobtrusive rock plate along the bottom of each shoe to protect against sharp jabs.
