Though it lacks a few of the aerodynamic touches of its more expensive stablemates, the men's Core Tri Suit represents the workhorse entry in Castelli's triathlon skin suits, so it's well-suited for all but the most demanding triathlete. The upper portion is constructed entirely from the same Tempo 3 material of Castelli's Core Tri Top, so it's breathable, low-weight, and fast-drying, and its high stretch properties mean it won't impede your swim stroke or running stride. The bottom portion is made from Pace 3 material, which provides gentle compression for aerodynamic and muscle stabilization purposes. The material dries quickly for a comfortable transition from swim to bike and an ongoing defense against irritating moisture build-up through the run leg. The suit is finished with the same KISS Tri chamois found in Castelli's top-tier triathlon suits. Like the Pace 3 material, it's made to dry quickly once you're out of the water, and its low-bulk profile all but disappears on the run. The Core Tri Suit's final aerodynamic touches include the Free pocket design, which incorporates two pockets with side openings at the tops. The openings themselves may seem small, but that's only compared to the pockets' over-sized capacity, which actually lets you carry more cargo than a typical three-pocket road jersey, ensuring against hunger knocks during your run. It also eliminates the open-to-the-wind, parachute construction of open-topped pockets or the need to tuck gels under the lie-flat cuffs.
