There's no glory involved in bike-on-car accidents. In fact, we'll attest to their general horror, and we have the scars to prove it. Sure, by definition, an accident is unintentional, and thus difficult to avoid. However, Chaos Theory is still a working logic, and we believe in throwing a 15mm wrench in its spokes by practicing precaution. With the CatEye Rapid 3 Tail Light, you'll be increasing your visibility to motorists, keeping you safer in the long run. A tail light serves one function, and that's to raise your visual presence to the awareness of motorists. To achieve this, the Rapid 3 tail light uses a three LED design that enhances your visibility to those behind you. At the center of the light row is a powerful SMD-LED that jolts light unmistakably forward to motorists. Flanking this hub are two 5mm LEDs that cover out 45 degree angles from the center light. Together, the system of lights provides a powerful, nearly 180 degrees of rear coverage. Mounting the Rapid 3 is a simple affair. The light comes equipped with CatEye's SP-11 FlexTight bracket that attaches to the seatpost. However, the light is also compatible with CatEye's all-new RM-1 saddle rail bracket should you wish for a more streamlined placement. In terms of modes, the Rapid 3 has three. For a maximum output, and the shortest battery life, there's Constant. The next two, Rapid and Flashing, feature various stages of flashing motion and intensity. All in all, the Rapid 3 has a battery life ranging from 3 to 80 hours depending on your mode selection. Better yet, the light only requires one battery for operation, which comes included. The CatEye Rapid 3 Tail Light is available in the color Black and in one size. Each light includes the SP-11 FlexTight mounting bracket and one battery.
