Product Description
OutDry Ex Diamond Shell - Women's by Columbia
Traditionally, waterproof shells use interior waterproof membranes, which don't allow for air flow, and a water-repellent coating that degrades over time. While this method is intially effective, it lessens over time with heavy use, so Columbia made a change and designed the Outdry EX Diamond Women's Shell with a waterproof membrane on the outside of the jacket. This makes dirt and wear a non-issue, and allows the moisture-wicking lining to maintain excellent breathability throughout the life of the jacket. The seams are fully sealed for extra protection, and the shoulders have been reinforced to protect the waterproof membrane from abrasive backpack straps. The hood, cuffs, and hem are all adjustable for tight cinching to block out cold gusts and heavy rains, while the highly water-resistant center front zipper offers a watertight closure to the jacket. Columbia also threw in dual underarm ventilation zips, since even the most breathable rain jacket can have a hard time keeping up with the fast pace you prefer to keep on the trail, and multiple pockets provide a safe space for your essentials when you need them most.
