Most of the helmets in Louis Garneau's extensive line make ventilation one of their top priorities. The Voice Women's Helmet is no different, but its focus on ventilation manifests in a different way. The Voice is a winter helmet, so it uses airflow to keep you dry and comfortable without compromising the warm cocoon created by the helmet's extended coverage. That extended coverage and a removable, insulating cap recommend the Voice specifically for fat bike snow-floating and winter bikepacking trips, but it serves just as well on the daily commute in frigid climes. The helmet's shell consists of the same in-mold construction as much of LG's summer-weight line. The recipe involves a polycarbonate face and an EPS foam body that are melded to produce a more structurally sound whole. Unlike the summer models, the winter-specific Voice's shell is interrupted by a minimal number of vents, but it does include evacuation channels that pull vapor away from your glasses or goggles. The shell is stabilized on your head with a Spiderlock Creo device, and LG's Micro Dial system provides single-handed adjustment. As mentioned above, the Voice replaces a cycling helmet's usual light padding with a cushioned cap. It ensures the shell rests comfortably against your head while eliminating the need for a winter skull cap by adding an insulating layer to the helmet. The helmet also includes detachable ear covers and a rubber goggles fastener to tailor insulation levels to the weather on a given day and keep cold-weather eyewear in place, respectively.
