Montane Deep Cold Down Jacket - Men's

Using a blend of proven construction techniques and modern materials, the Montane Men's Deep Cold Down Jacket brings old-school mountaineering well into the 21st century. The jacket's shell is made with Pertex Endurance ripstop and mini ripstop fabrics for durability and water-resistance. Featuring classic box wall construction with 800-fill down insulation from certified non-live-plucked and non-force-fed geese, the Deep Cold jacket is ready to take on the coldest weather in the world's harshest climates. The hood, shoulders, and forearms are lined with soft-to-the-touch PrimaLoft Eco insulation (on top of the down fill) for extra warmth and protection. The Deep Cold's high mountain fit is slightly larger than a regular fit in the chest and arms to make it more comfortable when you wear multiple layers underneath. A longer cut adds a bit more protection across the tops of your thighs. Articulated elbows allow you to fully extend your reach without lifting the hem. An extra tall collar shields your face from wind and snow and features low-profile press studes which secure together and pin back out of the way in calm weather. The removable, helmet-compatible hood is lined with Pertex Endurance so the down won't be affected by moisture from wet hair. The hood also features a foam insert and wire brim for structure, even when the wind blows. This jacket features plenty of pocket space to give you easy access to essential items. Six outer pockets and two inner pockets provide all the space you'll need for items outside your pack. An internal water bottle pocket keeps your water from freezing so you stay hydrated while you move.

October's Animal
Most commonly found in the tundra of Rocky Mountain National Park, the pika is a close relative of the rabbits and hares, with two upper incisors on each side of the jaw, one behind the other. Being rock-gray in color, pikas are seldom seen until their shrill, metallic call reveals their presence.
