RockShox Lyrik RCT3 Dual Position Air 180 Boost Fork - 27.5in - 2018

Long travel forks are great for absorbing the biggest hits and smoothing out trail chatter when you're going mach 5 down sketchy lines. However, they're notoriously inefficient on steep climbs where the longer travel equates to a wandering front end that feels like it's miles ahead of your intended placement. Solving this conundrum of longer travel at the expense of climbing efficiency, the RockShox Lyrik RCT3 Dual Position Air 180 Boost 27. 5in Fork offers a Dual Position Air Spring that instantly changes the fork's travel from 180 down to 150 millimeters. This allows you to gain much-needed efficiency on the climbs, as well as improving the overall climbing position of your bike. Ultimately, it means you'll have a much easier time cleaning those tight switchbacks and technical rock sections on your next climb. The Lyrik RCT3 is the stiffest fork in RockShox's line this side of a dual-crown Boxxer, meaning it's purposely built for the aggressive styles of all-mountain and enduro. Its increased stiffness is courtesy of 35-millimeter stanchions with thicker walls than what you'd find on a Pike. This makes the Lyrik RCT3 better at handling bigger hits and rowdy descents where the Pike would be overwhelmed, especially seeing the Pike isn't intended for longer travel applications. New for 2018, the Lyrik RCT3 benefits from the addition of the Charger 2 damper, which provides a wider range of low-speed compression tuning, alongside heightened sensitivity levels to small bumps. The higher sensitivity equates to better traction when you're rallying over trail rubble, such as jarring roots and loose rocks. As always, you'll find the 3-position knob seamlessly switches between Open, Pedal, and Firm modes. In the Open mode, there's a wide range of low-speed compression tuning for getting its feel just right. Boost axle spacing is a given with the Lyrik RCT3, especially considering the push for wheel stiffness on long-travel enduro rigs. This wider axle standard allows t...

October's Animal
Most commonly found in the tundra of Rocky Mountain National Park, the pika is a close relative of the rabbits and hares, with two upper incisors on each side of the jaw, one behind the other. Being rock-gray in color, pikas are seldom seen until their shrill, metallic call reveals their presence.
