The Rossignol XV Sushi LF Powder Board is a pint-sized powder board for devouring the deepest powder of the season. As Xavier de Le Rue's newest pro model, the XV Sushi LF serves as a mellow pow deck when he's trading in the big mountains of the Alps for the mini lines and waist-deep powder of places like Japan. In fact, Xavier tested the XV Sushi LF Powder Board last season in Hokkaido, finding it excels when buoyancy in powder and nimble turning between tight trees are essential. Seeing it's only available as a 145-centimeter board, the XV Sushi LF Powder Board maintains incredible float with its fatty swallowtail shape, which is 20 millimeters wider than a normal board. Even more impressive, the XV Sushi LF Powder Board has an incredible 58 millimeters of taper--the nose being significantly wider than the tail. Tapered boards naturally drop the rear into the snow, ensuring the nose floats when you're making glorious turns in waist-deep powder. Taper also instills a surfy ride quality to the board when you're carving up groomers, slashing wind lips, and snapping quick turns between trees. It's built on Rossignol's Amptek Elite profile, which places responsive camber directly underfoot, so you can lock into carves without washing out. You'll find the camber transitions to rocker at both the tip and tail. The nose rocker is most prominent, rising early to keep you floating above the deep stuff with ease. And because a large, rockered nose is susceptible to high-speed chatter, Rossignol uses LITE Frame technology to mute excess vibration from bucking you around. This technology is comprised of flexible urethane strips milled into the board along the perimeter, creating a smoother ride by conforming to the terrain and absorbing jarring chatter.

The North Cascades have long been known as the North American Alps. Characterized by rugged beauty, this steep mountain range is filled with jagged peaks, deep valleys, cascading waterfalls and glaciers. North Cascades National Park Service Complex contains the heart of this mountainous region in three park units which are all managed as one and include North Cascades National Park, Ross Lake and Lake Chelan National Recreation Areas.
Badgers are animals of open country. Their oval burrows (ten inches across and four to six inches high) are familiar features of grasslands on sandy or loamy soils of the eastern plains or shrub country in mountain parks or western valleys.
