Salomon X-Mission 3 CS Running Shoe - Men's

When you go out to a restaurant, you're the guy who convinces everyone to order a bunch of apps and entrees to split family style, no matter where you are. Rather than having to choose just one thing off the menu, you'd always prefer to sample a little bit of everything, and that's pretty representative of your philosophy on life. When you're replacing your old beat-up trail runners, you'll find the Salomon X-Mission 3 CS Running Shoe matches your aversion to just one type of terrain. Take a quick day hike, log your Sunday run on smooth singletrack, or navigate a brutal mountain race in the X-Mission 3 CS and you'll have the fit and grip you need to enjoy it all without missing a beat. Part trail runner, part ultra-light hiker, and part running shoe, the X-Mission 3 CS is the shoe you want to take with you when you're backpacking abroad and only have room for a single pair. It comes with a water-resistant treatment to keep your toes dry in wet weather, as well as Salomon's signature QuickLace system, which provides a streamlined fit around your heel and instep without costing you valuable time. Along the uppers, Salomon eliminated seaming wherever possible to give your toes room to stretch and splay as you charge over loose rock gardens and slick roots, and it added sticky Contagrip lugged rubber to the outsoles for added grip. Contagrip is made by Continental, which means you'll have car-worthy rubber helping you hang on as you traverse slick rock and bald summits.

October's Animal
Most commonly found in the tundra of Rocky Mountain National Park, the pika is a close relative of the rabbits and hares, with two upper incisors on each side of the jaw, one behind the other. Being rock-gray in color, pikas are seldom seen until their shrill, metallic call reveals their presence.
