Pinnacles National Monument - Climate

Home > Pinnacles > Planning > Climate

The Pinnacles area is one of low rainfall. The park gets about 16 inches of rain each year, primarily during winter and spring. Summers are hot and dry, and temperatures can reach over 100 degrees F. Winters are usually cool and moist with temperature averaging about 50 degrees F.

When hiking, always carry plenty of water and wear sturdy, comfortable footwear. Be prepared for wide ranges of temperatures. Cool, cloudy mornings can become surprisingly warm later in the day.
