VISITOR CENTERS

Visitor Center and Upper Midwest Indian Cultural Center

The Visitor Center is open daily 8am-5pm; Memorial Day to Labor Day extended hours are 8am-6pm.

The last two weekends in July and the first weekend in August, on Fridays and Saturdays, the Visitor Center extended hours are 8am-8pm. These open hours coincide with the presentation of the Hiawatha Pageant by the local Hiawatha Club.

American Indian craft demonstrations (Apr-Oct), Slide program, Founder"s Day (August 25)

Exhibits
The Visitor Center Museum and the Upper Midwest Indian Cultural Center feature pipestone pipes and artifacts. The Exhibit Quarry allows visitors to enter a former quarry and view the layers of prairie soil and Sioux quartzite overburden, as well as the pipestone layer, up close.
