Two in-park curriculum-based programs are available by reservation. In the north part of the parks is the Howland Hill Outdoor School; contact (707) 464-6101, extension 5065. In the south part of the parks is the Wolf Creek Outdoor School; contact (707) 464-6101, extension 5266.

Junior Ranger Program

Explore the redwood forest, slippery tidepools, vast open prairies, and more! Redwood National and State Parks has a Junior Ranger activity newspaper for children 7-12 years old. One potential junior ranger per activity paper can earn a patch OR a sticker. To earn a patch, 10-12 years olds complete six activity pages and 7-9 year olds complete four activities pages (two must be in-park activities marked by a star); in addition, each child will collect a bag of litter, attend a ranger program or hike a trail, write down one park rule, and understand and sign the Junior Ranger Pledge. To earn a sticker, each potential junior ranger must complete three activities, collect a bag of litter, write down one park rule, and understand and sign the Junior Ranger Pledge.
