Sagamore Hill National Historic Site - Facilities Open Daily 10 AM to 4 PM Phone 516-922-4788 Location About 260 yards/meters west of the Visitor Center and parking lot. Closures During the Fall and Winter starting after Labor Day the Site is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Closed Thanksgiving Day, December 25 and January 1. Special Programs 45 minute guided tours are offered on the hour from 10 AM to 4 PM. All tours are limited to 14 people/tour. Tour tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis. TOURS OFTEN SELL OUT IN THE EARLY AFTERNOONS ON WEEKENDS, SCHOOL HOLIDAYS AND DAILY JULY 4 TO LABOR DAY. Plan visits for earlier in the day if possible. A typical visit to Sagamore Hill takes 2 hours. Costs: $5/adult, Age 16 and under/free. Exhibits The Roosevelt home is a 23 room Queen Anne-styled brick and wood shingle-sided structure furnished as it was during his lifetime with an emphasis on the post-presidential period 1909-1919. Available Facilities Historically furnished rooms MUSEUMS Theodore Roosevelt Museum at Old Orchard Open Seven days a week from 9am to 5pm. Phone 516-922-4788 Location 20 Sagamore Hill Road. Closures Closed Mondays and Tuesdays starting in September. Closed Thanksgiving Day, December 25 and January 1. Exhibits Revolving exhibit of Theodore Roosevelt-related materials from the Sagamore Hill museum collection. Available Facilities Eastern National Bookstore, ticket sales for guided tours of the Theodore Roosevelt home. Short films on Roosevelt and life at Sagamore Hill. Restrooms and water fountain.
Some days Sagamore Hill will be closed in 2007 include Thanksgiving Day,
Christmas Eve & Christmas Day (December 24 & 25) and New Year"s Eve & New
Year"s Day (December 31 & January 1, 2008). |
