San Juan National Historic Site - Accessibility

Fort San Cristbal - Accessible parking available. Facilities for visitors with disabilities include restrooms, water fountains, two main exhibit areas, a store, video theater and the main plaza or first floor of the fort. An elevator provides access to the main plaza.

Fort San Felipe Del Morro - the trail to the fort's entrance is a quarter mile of packed gravel. Regular or accessible parking is not available. Once inside, the main plaza, a museum, a store, a video theater and exhibit areas are all easily accessible. The sixth level is accessed via two steep ramps. Lower levels are not accessible.

On both forts most surfaces are rugged and uneven, most ramps are steep, and most staircases are narrow and steep. The park film is shown in both Spanish and English.

Watch your step and your children as you explore the ramparts, stairways and tunnels of the forts. Good sturdy footwear will make your visit safer and more pleasant. The tropical sun is strong and we urge you to wear a hat and drink water during your visit. To prevent falls and injuries, please don't climb on cannon ball pyramids, cannons or the wall. Eating, drinking and smoking are not allowed in the forts. Enjoy your visit!
