Statue Of Liberty National Monument - Accessibility

Ferries are wheelchair accessible as well as the grounds of Liberty Island, its Information Center, concessions and all security screening areas. Those requiring the use of a wheelchair can enter the monument and experience the interior lobby, museum, and lower promenade including Fort Wood (what the Statue stands in). The pedestal Observatory platform includes the use of an elevator and a 24-step climb. Guide and other service animals are permitted in the park. For assistance, please contact a National Park Ranger or U.S. Park Police Officer. Ranger-guided tours in ASL - American Sign Language are provided free at scheduled intervals on Liberty Island. Monument access is now on a guided basis and requires a time pass. A limited number of passes are available from the ferry ticket offices on a walk-in basis the day of a visit or via reservation by calling: 1-866-STATUE-4.(U.S. calls only) OR on-line at: www.statuereservations.com Ferry tickets can be reserved in advance.
