Thomas Stone National Historic Site - Facilities![]() Open Summer : 9 am- 5pm daily Labor Day to Memorial Day: Wed.- Sun. 9 am -5 pm Phone 301-392-1776 Location Thomas Stone NHS is located on Rose Hill Road between routes 6 and 225 in Port Tobacco, MD three miles west of La Plata. Special Programs Special programs are held on July 4th and the first Saturday of December. See special events for further listings. Exhibits Thomas Stone National Historic Site commemorates the home and life of the youngest Maryland signer of the Declaration of Independence. The site, listed as a National Historic Landmark, burned January 1, 1977 and was brought into the National Park Service in 1980. Available Facilities The park contains the restored home of Thomas Stone, outbuildings and cemetery. A Visitor Center features exhibits, a sales area and restrooms. Admission to the park is free. Parking is available at the Visitor Center |
