Timoanogos Cave National Monument

Habitat
The American Dipper is a year round resident of cold swift-water mountain streams fed by melting snow and glaciers in Western U.S. This bird often moves to lower elevations during winter instead of migrating.

Feeding
While feeding on aquatic insects and small crustaceans, the American Dipper wades, dives, and swims beneath water.
