The visitor center for the preserve is located at Fort Caroline National Memorial and the park operates a visitor contact station at our Kingsley Plantation site. The facilities and grounds for both sites are open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., daily; closed on December 25, Thanksgiving, and January 1. The preserve headquarters is open 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; closed on all government holidays.
Jacksonville International Airport is about 20 miles northwest of the park. Visitors must provide their own transportation (taxi or private automobile) to the park.
The preserve visitor center is located near the intersection of Monument Road and Fort Caroline Road, approximately 14 miles east of downtown Jacksonville. There is no public transportation to or within the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve.
Private automobiles are necessary to travel between the different sites within the preserve.
There is a two mile dirt road to Kingsley Plantation. If you have concerns about road conditions, please call the park at 904.251.3537. If you travel with a large RV towing a vehicle, you may wish to contact Kingsley Plantation before visiting as the parking lot is small and there is limited space to turn around.
