Tuskegee Airman National Historic Site - ActivitiesTuskegee Airmen Natoinal Historic Site is currently housed in a temporary visitor center. The visitor center houses exhibits and a 30-seat auditorium where five historic films that tell different aspects of the Tuskegee Airmen Story are shown. The site offers guided walks to historic Moton Field, site of basic anf primary flight training for the airmen. Also available are 3 scavenger hunts for children of various age groups. There is also a small bookstore with a large variety of unique items to make your visit a memorable one. Downhill is Historic Moton Field, site of primary flight training for the pilots. Take a gander down and let your mind take you back 60 years and picture young men and women diligently, excitedly carving out a place for themselves in history as America"s first African American military pilots and support staff. Then come back in 4 years and see your vision as a reality in the restoration of Moton Field Historic Complex. |
