Ulysses S Grant National Historic Site - FacilitiesVisitor Center Open Open All Year 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Phone 314-842-3298 Location The Visitor Center is located just inside the park"s Grant Road entrance. Closures Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. Special Programs Interpretive tours by rangers and self-guided walking tours are available year-round. Tours of the main house are available daily. Special programs are offered occasionally - please call the park for details. Exhibits A temporary Visitor Center with exhibits is located in the historic barn. A development project (scheduled for completion in 2005) includes a new Visitor Center building as well as a full exhibit gallery in the historic barn. Available Facilities There is no lodging or camping in the park. A variety of lodging facilities are available throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. Food and supplies are not available in the park. There are a vast number of restaurants and grocery stores in the area. A bookstore located within the visitor center is managed by the Jefferson National Parks Association. The store offers a wide variety of books and materials on Ulysses S. Grant and related themes. The Visitor Center and restrooms are fully accessible. A paved road traverses the grounds. Visitor parking is available at the site. Buses cannot enter the site but may unload at the park entrance. Please call ahead for specific instructions and assistance with bus groups. |
