Franklin Falls Dam

Description:

Sited on the Pemigewasset River near Franklin, this recreation area drains a 1,000 square-mile watershed that extends all the way to the White Mountains. There are 4,000 acres of wooded river valley available for recreation. Construction of the dam required the relocation of the entire village of Hill, NH to higher ground. Featured Wildlife
The pika is a close relative of the rabbits and hares, with two upper incisors on each side of the jaw, one behind the other. Being rock-gray in color, pikas are seldom seen until their shrill, metallic call reveals their presence.
