Virgin Islands National Park - Water Quality

The Virgin Islands National Park has been conducting near shore water quality tests for more than 20 years. We now have an extensive water quality data base and hope to begin initial analysis soon. Waters are typically clear with good visibility. Heavy rain events and run off from poorly managed construction can affect water quality and visibility. In general waters surrounding St. John have ideal conditions for snorkeling, scuba diving and underwater photography.
