Washita Battlefield National Historic Site - WetlandsThe Washita River forms the most distinct wetland habitat at the park. There are some minor areas not directly along the river that also qualify as wetlands, if only ephemerally, however. These are either the result of a past river channel with an elevated water table, or human manipulation of the river to form an alternate route. Whatever the case, these areas support isolated stands of riparian vegetation. |
