Womens Rights National Historical Park - Activities

The park Visitor Center is open year round, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, except on federal holidays during the winter seasons. The M'Clintock House is normally open during the summer season, but is closed during the fall, winter, and spring seasons.

The Visitor Center includes an orientation film, "Dreams of Equality" which is shown on the hour, a museum with exhibits that detail the history of the Women's Rights movement through the early 1990s, and a statue exhibit entitled "The First Wave", depicting the planners of the First Women's Rights Convention.

The remains of the Wesleyan Chapel are immediately adjacent to the Visitor Center. This was the site of the First Women's Rights Convention, held in 1848 and considered by many historians to be the formal beginnings of the Women's Rights Movement. Talks are provided daily here by park staff.

The M'Clintock House was the home of Thomas and Mary Ann M'Clintock, prominent members of Waterloo's Quaker community who were instrumental in the planning and hosting of the First Women's Rights Convention. The home has been restored to it's 1848 appearance, and houses exhibits about their work in Anti-Slavery and Women's Rights. Closed until May 27th, 2006. After May 27, 2006, the House musuem is open Thursday through Sunday from 1-4 pm until August 13, 2006.

The Elizabeth Cady Stanton House was the home of Elizabeth Cady Stanton. It has been restored to it's 1848 appearance, and ranger-led tours are provided there daily.
