Jefferson National Expansion Memorial For Kids

Junior Ranger Program

Come be a Junior Ranger at our place! Our park offers a lot of history and architecture in two different locations. The junior ranger books have activities at either the Old Courthouse or the Museum of Westward Expansion under the Gateway Arch. You can do all three activities at one site, or spread it out over both. There are three separate booklets, one designed for each of these three age groups: 5-7 year olds, 8-10 year olds, and 11-13 year olds. Visit the information desk to pick up your booklet. To receive your badge, you must bring your completed booklet to the information desk to receive your badge. After you have received your badge, you may purchase a patch in the Arch Museum Store or the Old Courthouse.

Maine Puffins

Maine ocean islands provide the only nesting sites for Atlantic puffins in the United States. Eastern Egg Rock in the midcoast region, Seal Island and Matinicus Rock at the mouth of Penobscot Bay, and Machias Seal Island and Petit Manan Island off the downeast coast provide habitat for more than 4,000 puffins each summer.
