Appomattox Court House National Historical Park For Kids

Children's Civil War Day Camp On July 13th, 15th, 27th and 29th, Appomattox Court House National Historical Park will be hosting its 9th Annual Civil War Day Camp. Children ages 8-12 (only) are invited to attend. The camp will start at 9 a.m. and end each day at 2 p.m. Some of the activities in which the children will participate include, soldier training, scavenger hunts, period music, and lots more! Space is limited and restricted to one day only. There is no fee for children, parents are not required to stay and participate. Those parents who choose to stay must pay the $4 park entrance fee.

The registration deadline is July 10, 2005. To reserve a space please call 434-352-8987, ext. 34 and leave a message with your child's name, the date he or she wishes to attend, how many children will be attending, and a phone number. A park Ranger will return your call ASAP. All participants should wear sturdy walking shoes; bring a bag lunch, a book bag and an extra bottle of water. Come join the fun this summer and learn a little history too.
