The Parkway ranges from 649 feet above sea level at Virginia's James River to 6,047 feet south of Mount Pisgah in North Carolina, so expect rapidly changing weather conditions. Summer temperatures can reach the 90's and winter can produce extended periods with single digit temperatures, ice, wind, and snow.
