Children's programs and junior ranger programs are offered throughout the park in the summer months.
So you want to become a Junior Ranger! It might be challenging at times, but we hope you will have fun completing your training. To become an official Junior Ranger, stop by any ranger station or visitor center for more information.
Maine ocean islands provide the only nesting sites for Atlantic puffins in the United States. Eastern Egg Rock in the midcoast region, Seal Island and Matinicus Rock at the mouth of Penobscot Bay, and Machias Seal Island and Petit Manan Island off the downeast coast provide habitat for more than 4,000 puffins each summer.
