Craters Of The Moon National Monument and Preserve Permits

All roads and facilities are open The Visitor Center is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Obtain a permit before entering any authorized cave. Permits Permits are required for the following park activities: Wilderness Permit - A free Wilderness Permit is required to spend the night in the Craters of the Moon Wilderness area. They can be picked up at the Visitor Center during business hours. Filming Permit A permit is required for commercial filming or photography in the park. Contact the park for more information. Research Permit A permit is required for scientific research in the park. Permits can be obtained through the NPS Research Permit and Reporting website . Fee Waiver Only bonafide educational or scientific organizations visiting Craters of the Moon for educational or scientific purposes may apply for a waiver of entrance fees.
