Follow the Pinelands logo throughout Central New Jersey to explore the stories and destinations that give this area its unique character. Almost forty percent of the Pinelands is publicly owned and is managed by several different land management agencies. Local agencies can help you learn more about recreation use policies and regulations. The remaining land is privately owned.

Eastern Egg Rock in the midcoast region, Seal Island and Matinicus Rock at the mouth of Penobscot Bay, and Machias Seal Island and Petit Manan Island off the downeast coast provide habitat for more than 4,000 puffins each summer.
