There are several smaller, less developed camping areas in the park. Generally these have more rustic facilities such as pit type toilets.

These campsites include: Bay Creek Rymers Cedargrove Gooseneck Shawnee Creek Big Tree Sinking Creek Cedar Spring Grubs Hickory Keatons Log Yard Pin Oak

The fee for these primitive sites is $5.00. Sites are limited to 6 people and two vehicles and are available on a first come, first served basis only. Styas are limited to 14 days.

Round Spring Cave Tours

Details

Tours are limited to 15 people, tickets go on sale 30 minutes before each tour at the Round Spring Visitor Center.

Tours are at 10:00 and 2:00 daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Please wear sturdy footwear and dress warmly, as it is about 54 degrees in the cave.

Maine ocean islands provide the only nesting sites for Atlantic puffins in the United States. Eastern Egg Rock in the midcoast region, Seal Island and Matinicus Rock at the mouth of Penobscot Bay, and Machias Seal Island and Petit Manan Island off the downeast coast provide habitat for more than 4,000 puffins each summer.
