The Arc'teryx Men's Cerium SV Hooded Down Jacket is built with extreme functionality in mind, specifically for those challenging backcountry and alpine situations. When your life depends on your gear, the last thing you want to be thinking about is whether or not your jacket is up to the task. The warmest option in the Cerium series, (the Arc'teryx line of minimalist, lightweight, technical, down insulated jackets) and designed to tackle severe weather head on, this jacket is a dependable midlayer in frigid conditions or a standalone jacket in bitter, dry conditions. The Cerium starts with down composite mapping, which strategically places down and synthetic insulation in key areas. As down only provides warmth if it's lofty and dry, synthetic insulation is placed in areas that are more prone to moisture, such as the cuffs and shoulders, for maximum warmth. The baffle construction also helps in heat retention. Designed in a linear pleated baffle structure that creates volume and maximizes the down loft toward the body, the baffles are reducing negative air space, essentially erasing cold spots that can be common in quilted down jackets. To top off the warmth, a DWR coating is used on the lightweight Arato face fabric to help repel light precipitation to keep the insulation dry. When conditions get really extreme, the adjustable StormHood can be worn over your helmet to help seal in your body heat and the No Slip Zip design of the main zipper ensures that while you're climbing or moving around a lot, the zipper won't creep down allowing cold air in. When a downpour starts, the down insulation is highly compressible so you can comfortably layer the Cerium SV under a technical shell to keep dry and warm. In fact, a stuff sack is included with the Cerium so you can pack it away easily without it taking up too much room or weight in your pack when you're at lower, warmer elevations.

The pika is a close relative of the rabbits and hares, with two upper incisors on each side of the jaw, one behind the other. Being rock-gray in color, pikas are seldom seen until their shrill, metallic call reveals their presence.
